The BeGeVege Festival is an event promoting the vegan lifestyle, healthy and sustainable nutrition, raising awareness of animal exploitation issues, and offering ways to overcome them. The festival was initiated in 2015 by the non-governmental organization Freedom for Animals (Sloboda za životinje), and, as in previous years, is organized in collaboration with younger activists from the Vege Community association (Vege zajednica).

This year, in organizing the festival, these two associations received support from ProVeg International, the largest vegan fund that works on transforming the global food system by supporting a large number of organizations and actions of this kind. Additionally, support came from companies in the vegan industry that sponsored this festival, with the main sponsor of this year's festival being Gen!e.

Alongside sponsors, the festival will feature more than twenty vegan producers of food and beverages, as well as cosmetics, clothing, and other products that make cruelty-free and sustainable living easier for both animals and our planet. There will also be a restaurant section where five vegan restaurants will showcase their savory and sweet specialties.

In addition to the exhibition part of the festival, as in the past, the organizers of BeGeVege Festival have prepared an interesting educational program, including vegan food preparation workshops, as well as film screenings, lectures, and panels focused on raising awareness about animal exploitation and ways to overcome it, as well as the ecological, social, and health aspects of the vegan lifestyle.

Eight associations (local and regional) dedicated daily to the fight for animal rights and liberation will present themselves at their booths and offer visitors the chance to support their work through recommended donations. For the first time this year, festival-goers can look forward to an exciting social & activist program organized by an independent activist group saznaj.rs: through activism challenges, the "Meet the Vegans" game, and an action planning workshop, all interested parties will have the opportunity to develop skills, connect with the community, and contribute to the animal rights movement!

Also, in collaboration with the international organization Animal Equality, all interested will have the chance to experience the world of virtual reality with iAnimal. This revolutionary VR experience allows viewers to witness, for 5 minutes, the reality behind the walls of the dairy, meat, and egg industries from an animal's perspective. This year, for the second time, the public will see the synchronized version of iAnimal Pigs, guided by actor Slobodan Beštrić. To wrap up the first day of the festival on November 2, the organizers have prepared a big vegan party starting at 8 p.m., also in Dorćol, at the vegan bar VeZa, Venizelosova 20, where all visitors can enjoy even more vegan delicacies and beverages with a guaranteed good time.
