According to Article 51(A) of the Indian Constitution, it is the fundamental duty of every citizen of India to have compassion towards all living creatures. People should understand that not only *cats, dogs, and cows* are living creatures but *bulls, buffaloes, calves, goats, rabbits, fish, chickens and other birds* are also living creatures, they are not born on this earth to become human food. Nor should their reproductive capacity be misused for commercial purposes in the world.

भारतीय संविधान के अनुच्छेद 51(A) के मुताबिक हर जीवित प्राणी के प्रति दया भाव रखना भारत के प्रत्येक नागरिक का मूल कर्तव्य है। लोगों को यह समझना चाहिए कि सिर्फ़ *बिल्ली, कुत्ते और गाय* ही जीवित प्राणी नहीं हैं बल्कि *बैल, भैंस, बछड़ा, बकरी, खरगोश, मछली, चिकन (मुर्गी) एवं अन्य पक्षी* आदि भी जीवित प्राणी हैं, उन्हें इस धरती पर मनुष्य का भोजन बनने के लिए जन्म नहीं मिला है। न ही उनकी प्रजनन क्षमता का दुरुपयोग मानव निर्मित दुनिया में व्यावसायिक उद्देश्यों के लिए किया जाना चाहिए।
