This song was written and inspired by a vegan travel sharing vegan music against animal abuse (and in defense of animal life and freedom) doing artivism and activism around Northwest Africa...
Have you ever wondered why science uses herbivorous animals like mice or rabbits, and even frugivorous animals like gorillas, in experiments to understand the behavior and nature of human beings? The answer is simple and lies in their similar nature and the animal language that their brains and neurological systems reproduce. Human and non-human animals have similar brains with the four basic neurological systems of fear, anger, joy, and care or nurture (maternal) that govern our experience of the environment in our daily lives.
Traveling vegan around Northwest Africa, it was always possible to speak the animal language of emotions and feelings with human and non-human animals. Give an animal or child on the streets the opportunity to share affection (and food when they need it).
Animal language is very simple. For example: when an animal is happy, wags its tail. A dog wags its tail, a cat wags its tail, a pig wags its tail, a cow wags its tail, a duck wags its tail, just like you do when you go to a party or to the club, happily wagging your tail on the dance floor with your partner or friends... Don't you remember when they taught you that in kindergarten? Carefully and affectionately stroke a pig or a cow, if they let you, and you'll see how they wag their tails with joy and happiness.
...Animals don't talk? Don't you see how a calf runs away when the butcher tries to kill him? He's saying, "I DON'T WANT TO DIE," just as you would run away when a criminal approaches you with a knife and says, "MONEY OR YOUR LIFE." You would also run or give up everything of value and say, "I DON'T WANT TO DIE." …Can't you see how an angry a gorilla bares its teeth when he's locked in a zoo cage? Just like you did when you were grounded, locked in your room and couldn't go out with your friends. Can't you see how a chicken squints when she wants to sleep? Just like you did when you fell asleep at school or university, and even at work (out of boredom). Can't you see how a turkey opens its eyes in amazement and fear when he sees a stranger? Just like you when the minibus and the minivan were coming at you and you almost got run over. Don't you see how a cow licks her calf with love and maternal care? Just like your mother showered you with kisses and combed your hair with her saliva before going to school. This is how animals speak to you. This is how we communicate.
In all this time, the animals I met traveling around Northwest Africa and around the world became not only my friends, but my family, speaking nothing more and nothing less than animal language.
We don't need to treat them as people, but rather respect their freedom and will to live, and... Why not? Give them the opportunity to share affection and love.
Go "vegan" means: Become "a person who consciously respects the freedom and will to live of animals as much as possible."
Let's speak animal. When I want to communicate and understand an animal anywhere around the world, then I only speak animal. You speak animal too, and you'll understand.
