Thank you very much for your valuable information. I have removed the bird feeder and decided not to put out food for the hedgehogs for a while, which breaks my heart. I have ordered some peppermint spray. Should I apply it around the holes or inside the holes? Additionally, how should I apply ammonia? I have no issue living with them; my only concern is that legally, local authorities have the right to gain entry and use pest control if a neighbour complains. I believe there are quite lot of them in the garden
I have a question, please. I have fed birds and hedgehogs in my garden for about ten years. However, I have recently seen rats in my garden and noticed tunnels under the flower beds and droppings in the coal shed and storage boxes. It seems there may be an infestation. After researching, I found that if I remove food and water sources and apply peppermint spray, the rats should move away. I feel terrible for not paying attention earlier. Now, I am worried that if my neighbours start to complain, the local authorities may get involved and send pest control. If that happens, I would feel awful because my 30 years of practising non-violence would be in vain. Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thank you
