In a vegan world everyone would be able to admit to their mistakes, and own up to them. We would seek to help and rehabilitate these people no matter how huge the mistake was. In our current reality it can get more complicated as we fear to admit that actions are different from words.
Shame runs rampant, discussions die. Self-image becomes more important than integrity.
There are actually better ways of doing activism, better techniques to control your mood, and better relationships that you can enter. There is always room for improvement, and life doesn’t end even when you achieve the best way to do activism in one way! There are always other ways available! Not all ways have the same impact, and sometimes even if you don’t get likes and attention it doesn’t mean that you didn’t put out quality work.
It is pointless to occupy your mind about how other people could be doing activism better, it is a prison. Once you have an overly strong or positive reaction to something, take a moment to examine it because it is a sign that you are not fully integrated into the present - you aren’t able to be positive about the impact that you are making! It is better to hear yourself out, and contribute in the way that’s tailored to you.
Once you take the steps to embrace yourself, and your way of doing things you will lose relationships, and people who did not approve of you, and your methods. It is a sign that you are improving because most of humanity doesn’t know how to deal with emotions or how to let everyone win, even if those people are fellow activists. There is a lot of social conditioning, and activists may convince themselves that they have done all the inner work by simply being active which leads to a trail of horrible failed relationships, trauma, and hurt. We are all here to work on each other no matter what position or authority level we have achieved in society! We are all works in progress because we are still alive!
Don’t be around people who dim your light, no matter what status or prestige they have achieved, and have convinced others that they have. The truth will win in the end, and will come out in the best ways possible the more you believe in it!
Believe in your impact, and believe yourself when your intuition tells you that the person you are speaking to has no good will! Losing relationships is part of life, and a sign of being authentic, putting yourself out there.
